Little did I know just how lucky I was to have booked a surf trip in 1993 to go to Mag Bay and that booking would put me standing in Brown’s Airfield San Diego and meeting two guys getting on the six seater Piper Cherokee plane for the trip down the Baja Peninsula. Alan W and our dear friend Clark were the men I met that day. Our friendship was started and never stopped. The group of friends got bigger over the years. Steve L and Steve W and many others. We had many trips over many years to all different countries. Clark was always the man. He knew so many people in all walks of life and they all loved Clark. He was a very special man. I am so proud to say, he was my friend and I will miss him dearly. He always used to say something to me when I would call or write him from Nicaragua. “Catch a wave for me Ken”. Clark please catch a wave for me on that endless point of paradise you have found to rest in peace. Love you.

My Good Friend
Clark, I will miss you so much. It’s funny that we went nearly 40 years before reconnecting at our 50th reunion 4 years ago. Since then, I don’t think we’ve gone a week without a phone call or email. It’s been great reliving some of our surf adventures from our Punahou days, but also getting to know Audrey, hearing about Malia and Kyle, sharing books that we were reading (Barbarian Days) and talking about so many shared interests. You are a special person and will live in my heart forever. Love, Bill
Mr. Smiles
We were fortunate to have known Clark as a dear friend and neighbor for a few short years! We are deeply saddened that we were not able to spend more time exchanging ideas and enjoying his immense knowledge in the construction trades and world affairs. We truly appreciated his friendship, love and interest in our lives…and of course his “miles of smiles” that was so contagious to those of us who had the pleasure of his company. He was always so kind and considerate to our daughters family next door, (the Hennigans) and to our grandchildren.
Rest in peace dear friend and neighbor. We will miss you beyond words!! Love and God’s Blessings!!
I will always remember…
…your smile. Your positive spirit. You were a gift to all of us LXVers. The memories you leave behind will be with us always.
Aloha no Clark.

Your smile warmed a room…
Thank you Clark, for the warmth of your smile and the twinkle in your eye. Always present and interested in others..rather than yourself. It’s been a while but have fun with the other LXVers on the other side and save some laughs for us!!! Aloha Clark..fond memories.

Clark, dear friend
Clark’s mom and my parents were very good friends. MaryLou helped me get into nursing school at UH Manoa. When we adopted our first child I asked Clark to be her godfather which he agreed to. MaryLou stood in for him since he was on the mainland and couldn’t be at the service. He has been a true friend for all these 68+ years. Thanks for the emails and great information… thanks for being a great friend with a wonderful sense of humor… thanks for being part of my childhood… Love you dear Clark and will miss you so much. God bless Audrey and Malia Joy and Kyle.
Thank you
Thank you to all our family and friends who have been so supportive. Feel free to leave notes, photos, or memories of Clark here.
