Aloha Clark

I just found out today at the end of July that Clark has passed. I wanted to talk to him about life, well you know how that can go. Clark was a great listener and a great storyteller. Anything is open and his memories of times together is uncanny. A great characteristic in a friend. Makes all of the things that are everyday occurrences very special. I will remember him for this more than anything else. My trips to Mag Bay were memorable because of him, he introduced me me to some real characters too. I have a whole folder of his emails of humorous unpolitically correct stories that I open up occasionally to read and laugh and remember. The next generation is going to miss people like Clark who say it as it is with a chuckle and still be civil. A rare breed indeed.

So Many Memories

Ah Clark…. we shared surf spots, high school, houses, cars, great friends, and a good chunk of our youth. And one of the greatest pleasures of our later years was to get together and “talk story” about those early times – wonderful memories resurrected with pupus, a good beer, and a long-lasting friendship. Sadly, it feels a bit like one’s own memories are diminished when our friends can no longer embellish them with color and depth. In the years since our youth we have wandered around the globe following our families, our careers, and our interests, but it was always good to be bought back to our roots again. You will be much missed.

Without A Doubt, His Smile

As Clark passed by my table at our 50th reunion, he greeted me and flashed his signature smile. It was as though no time had passed since I last saw him in 1965. I remember feeling happy to see his smiling, friendly face again and will hold on to that last image of him forever 🙂

Clark, Much Aloha

As a friend of Clark, he was our Hawaiian connection here in L.A.. He could talk in perfect
pidgin accent which always made me laugh. Clark was warm hearted person who made
made many connections because of who he was and what he did. I shall miss this connection

 Dear Friends,
To that wonderful man it just felt right for me to call him “Big Brother”. That’s how he made me feel. Loved like Family🤗. That’s how he and Audrey made us all feel.

He said it like it was, not shy with criticism but always very generous with praise.

So long Captain Clark !! Save us all seats on the bus next to you Big Brother! 😪
